Med Ball Forward Scoop Toss / Off Leg: Split Stance

  • The Primary Focus of Split Stance Off Leg Forward Scoop Toss is Shoulder Turn and Balance in attempt to toss/shoot around your forward (Off) leg
  • Stance: Position yourself in a Split Stance facing 6ft from the wall. Your feet should be 2-3 ft apart, at hip width. Lead foot is flat, and on the ball of your rear foot. Your spine angle should match the angle of your rear leg. The split stance will also challenge stability. Try not to wobble around during the toss
  • Hand Placement: Place both hands behind and slightly to the side of the ball. Your fingers should be pointing away with thumbs pointed up at address.
  • Shoulder Turn: Begin your takeaway by turning your shoulders 90° away from the wall and around your forward (off) leg. Arms will be relatively straight. Take the ball back slightly behind your hip to the forward leg side
  • Toss the ball as hard as you can driving your hands and inside shoulder towards the wall. Pull your trail shoulder back to accelerate your shoulder turn.
  • Release: Have your hands follow the ball to the wall.
